History

The Cathedral Bible Institute (CBI) was founded in 1997 to meet the academic needs of the three communities and its surrounding neighbors where the church is located - Perth Amboy, Plainfield and Asbury Park. The Cathedral Bible Institute has joined in partnership with Oral Roberts University School of Lifelong Education to offer quality biblical courses and also is expanding to offer general academic courses such as languages and general liberal arts education.

Mission

The mission of the Cathedral Bible Institute is to provide quality biblical, theological and practical ministry training for all believers in New Jersey and eventually throughout the world.

Programs Offered
The Institute provides a solid academic approach to biblical learning. Our Diploma of Theological Studies Program (66 credit hours), Advance Certificate in Theology (33 credit hours), and  Church Workers Certificate (19 credit hours) are designed to prepare a new generation of fully equipped believers to effectively do the work of the ministry. We are “Expanding the Borders of Our Minds,” through the witness of education. The Oral Roberts University School of Theology and Missions, which is one of the largest accredited seminaries in the United States, supplies our curriculum. The certificate or diploma that is earned is jointly issued by the Cathedral Bible Institute and the Oral Roberts University School of Lifelong Learning.

The courses are offered on a semester basis and are accredited. Our intensive program of study engages students in the rich history of Christianity, along with a theological foundation for understanding the mission of the church and its doctrines. We believe that both faith and theological instruction mature our students as they advance toward becoming better equipped to serve in the ministry of Jesus Christ. Also, to be offered will be certified general academic courses such as languages and completion of a liberal arts education.
