Mission

The primary mission of the Cathedral Health Alert is to increase public awareness among the membership of the Cathedral International, the Perth Amboy community, Middlesex County residents, etc. regarding public health issues by making available information and resources on:

·         How individuals should take care of themselves,

·         How to identify high risk factors that are related to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and nutrition, etc, and

·         How to become knowledgeable of the benefits of early detection and treatment. 

Also, the mission is to collaborate with other agencies and organizations, to advocate for early screenings, to reach-out to all communities and in all communities, and to educate individuals through collaborative partnerships, programs and events.

Workshops and Screenings Offered

The Cathedral Health Alert conducts an annual community health fair and launch the first mental health conference in August 2008 with mental health workshops and vendor information tables,  such as

·         High blood pressure screenings

·         Free eye and ear examinations Prostrate Cancer screenings

·         Diabetes screenings

·         Cholesterol screenings
