Let's celebrate the "Great Things" that our youth are accomplishing!

Diamond Gilliard is not only an outstanding student, but also a top basketball player. As a member of her High School Girl's Varsity Basketball Team, Hope received the Union County Coaches Association Top Player's award. She was an All-Conference Honorable Mention and and junior year, served as team captain. In one game she scored 17 points and in another had a team high 16 rebounds. Hope received the "Principal's Honors"award and upon graduating from high school plans to major in Psychology and receive her Masters in Development and Child Psychology.

Aracelis Wicks, a Senior at Perth Amboy High School was accepted to Rutgers, St. Peters College, Seton Hall, and Georgian Court University. Georgian Court has offered her an 11K scholarship. She is also a 2009 NAACP scholarship recipient. She is an active in the community and the Key Club, Fashion club, big brothers and big sisters, student council, Choir, and the Animal Activism Committee. She is also a member of the PAHS Competition Choir that will travel to Myrtle Beach in April. Aracelis is an active member of the Spanish Ministry, Nailah Girl's Mentoring Ministry and Cathedral International Teen Ministry. |

Mecca Mayers scored a 1460 on the SAT and she is only in the 8th grade. She scored higher than 56% of last year's group of college-bound seniors in critical reading. She scored higher than 25% of last year's group of college-bound seniors in math. She scored higher than 52% of last year's group of college-bound seniors in writing. Mecca is active in the Nailah Mentoring Ministry, Kingdom Dancers and New Generation Teen Ministry. |

Aaron Peters, a Freshmen at Rahway High School has been selected as "The Student of the Month" from the class of 2012. Aaron has also made the Honor Roll for the 1st and 2nd marking periods and is a member of the Junior Varsity basketball team. |

Damani Dennis is an 8th grader and has made High Honor Roll all of last year and 1 & 2 marking periods of the current school year. He is also of member of the Junior National Honor Society and a soccer player for a U16 team. He recently took the SAT's and received a satisfactory score to earn him a place at John Hopkins University Program for Talented Youth with acceleration in Math and Sciences. Damani is an active member of the Sight & Sound and Youth Ministries. He is also a graduate of the True Love Waits Program. |

Niara Dennis is a 7th grader who was recognized for her outstanding performance in achieving High Honor Roll for the 2nd marking period. Niara is an active member of the Cathedral Youth Doorkeepers (ushers) and a graduate of the True Love Waits Program. |
